Hot off the grill

Last January, I’ve finally been able to convince my dad to call our foreman and have our half of the backyard tiled and covered partially with an extended roof (I left the grass under the mango tree though, Marc didn’t want to waste our money having the tiles ruined when the tree’s roots grow bigger). Anyway, after the construction, we were pretty much broke so the husband thought it wasn’t the right time to buy a grill. I’ve been meaning to buy me grill once the backyard had been cleaned up, you see. I thought it would be long before I got me one, but after purchasing some lamb chops at Shopwise during my monthly grocery shopping, I’ve been able to convince Marc to buy a grill—telling him that the best way to cook lamb chops is to grill!

My husband and I went to Hongkong for our honeymoon about two years ago. We chanced upon a small stall at a corner of the street while doing our night shopping. They were selling grilled stuff, and out of homesickness, my husband and I bought a couple of ring-like stuff on a stick. Neither of us knew how to speak Chinese, so Marc pointed at the the ring-like things and indicated he wanted two. The lady said it’s “chicken.” Read more…

More than a year ago, my husband Marc and I have already thought of having a food blog. But the plans never really materialized until now—months and pounds of gained weight later, not to mention hundreds of food photo files amassed in our main computer. What can I say? We love to eat!
Honestly, I have no idea how to introduce this blog properly. In my other niche blogs, I have specific flow of topics in mind. Here in FoodBlog.ph, it’s different. I can’t think of any other “focus” but food: food at home, at restaurants, out of town… Basically my everyday encounters with food in general, nothing specific. So yes, I have no idea where this blog will end up in other than the generic category of “food.”
I hope you’ll join me in my journeys still, and together let’s discover the wonders in having one of life’s greatest pleasures: FOOD!
